Simply Done?

From time to time adds will appear on my screen for Word products. One time a slogan popped up that said “Take a short trip to a place called done.” I laughed over this one. Mainly because I realize how few times I really do take that trip.

Rarely do I allow myself to rest. Rarely do I allow myself to be done. To stop what I’m doing and take a break. Truth is, I like activity. I like being busy. Done usually only comes into my vocabulary when one facet of my to-do list is finished and I can move onto the next thing.

But I need to take that trip more often. To rest in what has been done and to put some things aside that need a rest. So come on, let’s take a trip to a place called done.

Can I Simply Think?

I’m prone to overthink things. I will dwell too much on things yet to be or on things outside of my control. I want to have everything straight in my mind.
But as I have started to live simply, I realize that one of the things that I have to do is think simply. Part of living simply is living in the moment. Enjoying the here and now. Plan for the future, yes. But don’t go overboard.
This one is hard for me. I’m still learning to do what is set before me and enjoy the here and now. But it is a beautiful journey. One that I look forward to continuing.
So it looks like I need to take a deep breath and enjoy this moment. And think simply about what is yet to be.

Simple Thinking

I tend to over think things. I want to know all the reasons. I want to have all the answers. I want to have everything down to a science.

But I am not meant to know all the answers. I can’t grasp everything. My human mind can’t understand all the ways of God.
But I can trust. I can look to God and know that even though I don’t know all the answers, I can be content in what He shows me today. That will be enough.
